About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Solutions team. This role is responsible for originating, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities that drive profitable and sustainable growth for COPE.

You will play a key role in developing a strong pipeline of opportunities aligned with our network capabilities, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure commercially sound, executable solutions. This is a highly collaborative role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, market insight, and disciplined sales execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a structured sales plan to achieve new business growth targets
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline aligned to COPE’s target customer profile and network capability
  • Identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities to ensure commercial viability
  • Prepare and present opportunities to internal approval standards (RMM) with accuracy and completeness
  • Engage with internal stakeholders including Operations, Pricing, Finance, and Leadership teams
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to identify opportunities and risks
  • Support pricing strategy development for complex and high‑value opportunities
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and customer data within CRM systems
  • Ensure all opportunities meet internal governance, compliance, and approval requirements
  • Support onboarding of new customers through to successful go‑live

 

What will you bring to the role:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or transport business development
  • Strong understanding of freight, transport, and/or supply chain solutions
  • Proven experience in building pipelines and securing profitable new business
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across all levels
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate and shape opportunities
  • High attention to detail with strong planning and organisational capability
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working within structured sales or approval environments is highly desirable
  • Exposure to sensitive freight or specialised logistics solutions (desirable)
